  • Work on a project with a bestie over Facetime (i.e. plan a lemonade stand when the situation is over, plan a field trip, learn about a topic and present to your families online).

  • PBS Kids Design Squad – engineering activities using materials from around the home
  • Wonderopolis – features a wonder of the day for kids and a nonfiction article to read
  • Create a bridge out of tape and newspaper or printer paper.  Research and build models of different types of bridges to test before constructing.  
  • STEM activities for kids 
  • Make a catapult – one of many KiwiCo activities for home
  • Create clothing out of newspaper and tape and put on a fashion show. Create notecards to describe the outfits you created using adjectives, similes, metaphors, etc. 
  • Find miscellaneous craft materials around the house and challenge a family member to invent a new product.  Then create a commercial persuading people to buy it.
  • Throw 5 random objects from around the house into a bag.  Then create a skit or movie using the items. For extra fun, put a famous quote in the bag that they must incorporate into the performance.
  • Read and reflect on nonfiction news articles on Smithsonian TweenTribune
